Top Decor Trends for Spring!

As the weather gets warmer and the days get longer, it's time to open up your windows, let the light in again, and get ready for Spring! Keep reading to see what is "hot" in home decor this spring and to get some tips on ways to brighten up your rooms this season!

Trend #1: Everything Emerald - Emerald was named the top color of 2013 by Pantone. By adding simple touches like slipcovers, decorative centerpieces, table runners, and napkins, you can get a fresh emerald look without changing too much about your room.

Trend #2: Chrome Is In - Don't look now, but chrome has been making a steady comeback among consumers. It's durable and it can be anywhere from 40 - 60 percent cheaper than other finishes.

Trend #3: Removable Wallpaper - Sometimes we hesitate to use wallpaper because it seems so permanent. But companies like Sherwin Williams and Swag Paper are some of the few that have started offering this awesome alternative: removable wallpaper. This trend-savvy option may be just the thing that a room in your house needs to spice it up a bit. And no worries, if it's out of fashion next year, you can just pull it down :)

Trend #4: New Window Coverings - New windows coverings are a must for any room renovation. Right now, natural styles are a huge trend for blinds and shades. Consider using materials like bamboo, wood slats, weaves, or a grassy accent.

Trend #5: Painted Furniture - Go for a casual chic look and resurrect some old furniture by painting it. The painting furniture trend is hotter than ever and is moving more and more into the public eye. As you take on this new DIY project, keep in mind that this trend is more about color than a specific style of furniture. Everything from an end table, bookcase, or armoire will work. It's just all about color!

Trend #6: Pendant Lights - Whether you add them above the bar or island in your kitchen, or install them in a bedroom, pendant lights add dimension and personality to any decor.
