Did Someone Say Dinosaurs???
Check Out The Museum of Ancient Life!

Located at Thanksgiving Point the North American Museum of Ancient Life is one of the world's largest dinosaur museums.

It will take you back in time for a hands-on trip through an amazingly life-like prehistoric world. Kids can dig up their own fossils, construct a giant dinosaur, or build their own private sand valley (complete with real eroding rivers). For a prehistoric adventure you'll never forget, come and enjoy a day here at the North American Museum of Ancient Life.

The Museum of Ancient Life exhibits fossil specimens representing every geological period from the Precambrian to modern times. Featuring more than 120 skeletons, 63 interactive exhibits, and hundreds of smaller fossil remains, it ranks as one of the world's largest permanent exhibitions of ancient life.

Open Monday through Saturday; 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Woot! Woot! Time to Hop on the Train!

Take a trip on the Heber Valley Historic Railroad (fondly known as the Heber Creeper). This unique attraction features the 618, a 1907 vintage steam locomotive, which pulls passengers in authentically restored vintage coaches on one- or two-way trips from Vivian Park up Provo Canyon, around Deer Creek Lake, and through the beautiful Heber Valley.

The 618 and her sister engines also transport visitors on such fanciful evening adventures as the Sunset Special, Pioneer Day Lakeside Limited, Storytelling Train, and the Christmas Train - The North Pole Express. Call for train departures, varies depending on season and event. Visit the website at
http://hebervalleyrr.org/ for complete information.

Seven Peaks Waterpark
(Because Summer and Swimming are Basically Synonyms :)

Splish splash through your day at Utah's largest waterpark. Enjoy a float ride in rambling river, experience one of many hair-raising slides for teenagers. Let the water carry you back and forth in the wave pool, or how about showing off your expertise at the old fashioned rope swing. There are even pools for the littlest family member.

Come join the fun. Pack the sun-screen, goggles, beach towels and jump in for a day of fun with the kids! They have half day admission as well. Check out their website for more information. Open Memorial Day to Labor Day

Become a Cave Explorer at the Timpanogos Cave National Monument

Explore the haunting beauty of three natural limestone caverns connected by man-made tunnels.  This National Monument is located on the Alpine Scenic Loop in American Fork Canyon. The cave system is well known for its colorful formations, unique helictites, fault-controlled passages, alpine surroundings, and rich history.

The 1-1/2 mile-long paved trail (1,160 feet elevation gain) to the cave is also a popular attraction. The trail provides spectacular views of the geology and beautiful scenery of the American Fork Canyon.  We consider the 1-1/2 mile trail to the caves to be a strenuous and difficult hike. Visitors gain over 1,092 feet elevation in that distance. The narrow cave trail is paved but rough with water bars and rain gutters. For everyone's safety, pets and wheeled vehicles (including wheelchairs and baby strollers) are not allowed on the trail. The visitor center, snack bar, and picnic areas are wheelchair accessible.

The man-made Timpanogos Cave system joins three natural caves that contain at least 42 types of cave formations-an unusually large variety. The uniquely colored cave features include unusual combinations of delicate helictites and anthodites in quantities not found in other caves worldwide.

The cave is open from mid-May to mid-October.
