Days of '47 Pops Concert


The Days of '47 Pops Concert features the Choral Arts Society of Utah Master Chorale, Utah National Guard 23rd Army Band, David Osmond, Clive Romney and Willingly, and Highland Drive.
The concert is free to the public, but tickets are required. Beginning June 1st, send a self-addressed stamped envelope to POPS TICKETS, PO BOX 2623, Salt Lake City, UT 84110. Please indicate which night and how many tickets you are requesting. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Those without tickets will be seated on a first come, first served basis after 7:15 p.m. Tickets are also available now for pickup at Daynes Music. Limit 6 tickets per request.

Youth Parade and Family Festival


This all-kids parade is a fun warmup for the "big show" on the 24th! The parade is followed by a Family Festival at Washington Square (200 East and 500 South).

Route starts at 600 East and 500 South, runs west on 500 South to 200 East, and ends at 200 East and 500 South.

Pioneer Day Concert with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir

The concert continues an annual tradition of commemorating the arrival of the first Mormon pioneers in the Salt Lake Valley on July 24, 1847.

Free tickets have already been distributed, but standby seating is usually available. Standby line forms at the north gate of Temple Square at around 5 p.m.; tickets distributed at 6 p.m. The concert will also be broadcast on TV, radio and internet; see website for details.

Days of '47 Okland Construction Float Preview Party


Meet the creators and technicians behind the 2014 Days of ’47 Parade floats and see how it all comes together — even before the Parade rolls! Vote for your favorite float and, after the Preview Party ballots are counted, watch the banners on July 24th to see if your favorite float won the “People’s Choice” or the “Children’s Choice” award.

The Days of ‘47 Rodeo is traditionally Utah’s largest rodeo, drawing world champion cowboys, cowgirls and rough stock.

Deseret News Classic Marathon/Half Marathon/10K/5K


The Deseret News Classic is USATF sanctioned and is a Boston Marathon qualifier. It's a great downhill with a total 3200 foot elevation drop. The 10K is also a fun downhill that finishes along the parade route with cheering crowds.

Days of '47 Parade


The Days of '47 parade is Utah's biggest parade, and many families camp out on the streets the night before to ensure a great seat to catch it all the following morning.

Route starts at South Temple and State Street running east to 200 East, turns south to 900 South, then turns east to Liberty Park at 600 East in Salt Lake City.

Native American Celebration


One of Salt Lake City's biggest Native American Celebrations includes in intertribal powwow, music, dancing, crafts, food and celebrity appearances.

Liberty Park Fireworks


The Liberty Park fireworks are Utah's biggest and most popular Pioneer Day fireworks display. The show begins at about 10 p.m., but be there early so you don't miss a minute!

Rooftop Celebration at Trolley Square


Enjoy prime seating for a great view of the Liberty Park fireworks, and other fireworks across the valley, from the rooftop of Whole Foods at Trolley Square. The free celebration begins at 7 p.m. and includes food, family activities, free valet parking, and music provided by X96.

Utah Pioneer Days at West Jordan


Utah's Pioneer Days at West Jordan includes vendors, games, Dutch oven cook-off, bouncy houses, dunk tank, climbing wall, human hamster balls, pony rides, petting zoo, softball tournament, iron man contest, tug of war, and three-legged races. Guests can participate in authentic pioneer games such as greased pig chase, mutton bustin', blacksmith activities, sack races, flour snowball fights, bumper balls and much much more. The Osmond Youth Pioneer Pageant will be presented each evening; see listing below.

This is the Place to Celebrate! Pioneer Days at This is the Place Heritage Park begins with a flag raising ceremony and ends with the bang of a candy cannon!

First Encampment Hike


During this family-oriented event, you can walk in the footsteps of the 1847 pioneers in a festive and commemorative hike that follows Emigration Creek through beautiful Salt Lake City neighborhoods. Five miles total.

Brother Brigham's Ball


Brother Brigham's Ball revives an early Utah tradition with old-fashioned music, dance and games. Pioneer era dress is suggested.

Osmond Pioneer Pageant


The Youth Pioneer Pageant features hundreds of children and young adults from all across the country as they share their talents through dancing, singing, and live theatrical entertainment. This one-of-a-kind production re-enacts the stories of the pioneer trek West and their attempt to settle the untamed valleys and mountains of Utah. You will witness wagons, handcarts, live animals, music, special guests, and a large fireworks display. The pageant recounts the journeys of all pioneers that settled Utah, such as Catholic missionary colonizers; Greek and Italian pioneers; the Chinese, Jewish and Mormon settlers; as well as Native Americans.

Sunrise Service


The Sunrise Service, sponsored by the Sons of Utah Pioneers and held at the Tabernacle at Temple Square, features the Tabernacle organist and a combined choir from throughout the valley.
