Summer Buying Guide

Inventory is low, but there are still a lot of people that need homes. That means you are going to frequently find yourself in multiple offer situations. So how do you set yourself apart and secure that home you will love? Here are some steps that can get you into a home before the fall:

1) Get Pre-qualified. Talk with our preferred lender about your buying options. Most agents require a pre-qualification letter from your lender when submitting an offer, so having one in your back pocket while seeing homes makes going under contract that much faster.

2) Hire an Agent. Agents have access to all of the homes on the market, some of which have not even been listed yet. They will scour the MLS for properties that fit your criteria and can sometimes show you the property before anyone else.

3) Be Ready to Act. Once you find the home of your dreams, get ready to make a strong offer. Your expert agent can help negotiate the terms and secure an asking price that is in line with sales in the area.

4) Just Keep Looking. It is not uncommon in this competitive market to make a few offers before securing a deal that will actually go through. Stay positive and be patient that the right home for you and your family will be found!
